Mariner holds a very special place in my heart
-- he was the first puppy born from my first litter and he
made it clear from the day he arrived he was a special fellow. Like his mom, Sailor, he has a wonderful personality and happy
attitude. He is a very sweet boy that adores hugs and a devoted
companion -- quite simply, he's a joy to live with! But in
the show ring, this handsome boy is all business and gives
100% during the entire time he is in the ring.
Mariner ranked #10 in Breed and #10 in All-Breed statistics in 2009 and
was once
again been invited to the GRCA Top 20 Gala.
Mariner was #7 in AKC All-Breed and #10 in AKC Breed
statistics for 2007. In limited showing, he was also a Top
20 Golden in 2010. He was a 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011
qualifier for the
AKC Eukanuba
National Championship. Mariner was the #8 Golden in Canada for 2010,
and is currently ranked #2 for 2011.
Mariner
was born December 4, 2004 from my first
BISS Am-Can Ch. Jetoca's Windward Passage SDHF "Gino" x Crangold
American Liberty AX, OAP, AXP, AJP, RE, CGC "Sailor" litter.
Mariner exemplifies the best characteristics of both his parents. He has a beautiful headpiece, expressive
dark eyes, a lush, straight light gold coat with blonde furnishings,
black pigment, full dentition with a scissors bite, clean movement, beautiful sidegait, proper tail carriage straight off his back and a
very showy attitude and ring presence.
Mariner has a very strong show pedigree on both sides. As
a
Strider grandson, he has carried on the family tradition
by just loving to show. And as a Banjo grandson, he exhibits
soundness, drive and trainability. With working ability on
both sides of the pedigree, we plan to compete in performance
events as well as the breed ring. Click

I've had so much fun in the show ring with Mariner. He got
his first 3 point major at only 10 months, and quickly finished
his championship in only 6 weekends by going BOB from the classes
for a 4 point major over 3 of the top 5 Golden Specials in
the country at 20 months.
Mariner
earned his GRCA Show Dog Hall of Fame title in June 2007 at 2
1/2 years of age. He is a Best in Show Winner, Multiple Best in Specialty Show
Winner and
23-Time Group Winner and has earned over 175 SDHF points as a
Special. Mariner was a Top 10 Golden in 2009 along with training in Agility, Rally,
Tracking and Obedience.
Mariner's Specialty wins include Best in Specialty Show Winner
at the White River GRC Specialty in May 2007, the
Greater Twin Cities Golden Retriever Club in June 2010 and the
Ft. Detroit Golden Retriever Club in September 2010.
In his show career, Mariner has made so many dreams come
true -- my first Best in Show Winner, my first SDHF winner, my first Best in Specialty winner, my first Group
Winner, and my first Special.
And of course, I am particularly proud of Mariner's versatility
which earned him a VC title with the GRCA.
2010 saw Mariner become the first Grand Champion Golden
Retriever in history with a Field Title. I am really proud
that at nearly he is still a great showdog with exceptional
versatility!
In July 2010, Mariner travelled to Canada and
earned his Canadian championship in only 3 shows. In only
a few weekends of showing, Mariner ended the year ranked as the #8
Golden in Canada and took 5 Group 1s over the #1 Sporting Dog / #2
All-Breed Dog in Canada. As of June 2011, he is the #2
Golden in Canada and the #8 Sporting Dog in Canada.
Mariner is now training for his TD title and will be making his
3rd appearance at the Golden Retriever Foundation Gala at the
Golden National in September.
He is truly a once in a lifetime dog who
is my best buddy!
